Over the years, I’ve seen many highly educated and experienced professionals including my best friends who have lost their jobs due to economic crisis and were unable to find better jobs after then. These groups of professionals are called as PMETs which stands for Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians by local newspaper. Majority of them are above age 40 and considered too mature for most jobs as employers prefer to employ younger employees at a lower wage. Many PMETs are forced to switch to new occupations which often result either in lower pay or not to their likings.

Personally, I find it is such a pity that some of these qualified professionals are not able to fully utilize their hard-earned knowledge and experiences during their career switch.
